Frascone

Frascone is a beach in Sant'Isidoro, Nardò, in Puglia's Salento region, divided into three separate sections. Natural rock formations separate sandy areas along the shoreline.

This coastal area was a fishing settlement during the Roman period, with archaeological traces still visible beneath the water. These ancient remains show how long the area has been used by people.

The name Frascone comes from the local word 'frasche', referring to the thick Mediterranean vegetation that surrounds the area. These plants still shape the character and appearance of this coastal spot today.

A large parking area next to SP 286 road provides access through walking paths. You should bring water and supplies since there are no facilities or shops on site.

Natural springs at the southern edge create a freshwater pool locally called 'Piccolo Mare'. There, cold spring water meets salt water in an unusual and striking way.
