Santa Caterina Beach

Santa Caterina Beach is a sand beach on the Ionian coast with fine sand and clear water stretching for several kilometers. Pine forests and limestone cliffs line the shoreline, providing natural boundaries and visual interest to the landscape.

The area developed in the 16th century around a coastal watchtower built to defend the region from pirate attacks. This tower still stands today as a visible landmark from the beach.

The beach reflects local maritime ways, where restaurants serve fresh seafood and traditional fishing boats from the region remain active in the harbor. You can observe how the community continues to depend on and celebrate its connection to the sea.

The beach offers free sections as well as areas with rented sunbeds and umbrellas from May through September. Parking is available nearby, and you can reach different parts of the shoreline on foot or by car.

The beach is known for cliff diving opportunities from the limestone formations into deep blue waters for experienced swimmers. This activity draws adventure seekers who appreciate the natural setup that allows for this thrilling experience.
