Secular Habsburg thermal baths park

The Habsburg thermal baths park is a sprawling garden in Levico Terme, planted with hundreds of mature trees, thousands of shrubs, and seasonal flowers throughout. The grounds are relatively flat with gentle slopes, crossed by quiet walking paths, with different zones containing varied plant collections and ponds.

The gardens were created in the late 1800s as part of a spa complex designed to develop the region as a thermal resort for wealthy guests. The project was part of a larger effort to establish Levico as a modern thermal center meeting European standards of the time.

The park was designed to celebrate water and nature as part of the thermal spa experience that attracted wealthy visitors from across Europe. Today, walkers can sense this heritage in the way the landscape frames views of the surrounding mountains and the elegant villas scattered throughout.

The park is accessible year-round and offers changing views depending on the season, from spring blooms to colorful autumn foliage. Multiple entrances lead into the grounds and most paths are easy to walk, though some areas have steps or gentle slopes that require basic fitness.

Two distinctive villas within the park, the Imperial and Paradiso, were built during the Belle Époque as private retreats for the wealthiest visitors. These buildings reveal how the upper classes of the era chose to spend time in this thermal resort, blending leisure with architectural sophistication.
