Monumento naturale delle Cascate dell'Acqua Fraggia

The Monumento naturale delle Cascate dell'Acqua Fraggia is a protected nature reserve in Valchiavenna where two waterfall sections drop over rock formations, creating a dynamic water system. The streams carve through the landscape, forming deep pools and channels as they descend toward the Mera River.

The site gained official protection in the 1980s to preserve its geological and biological importance within the Alpine region. This designation recognized the need to safeguard the natural formations and ecosystem of the valley.
