Salis Palace, Italian national heritage palazzo in Chiavenna, Italy.

Salis Palace is a Venetian-style fortress built in the late 1500s with flanking towers and a baroque central portal. The structure comprises residential rooms, a baroque church, and an inner courtyard that once housed stables.

The palace was built by the Salis family in the 1500s and remained in their continuous possession for centuries. The family eventually adopted the name Sertoli Salis as their lineage developed.

The ten decorated and frescoed rooms reveal how the Salis family lived and conducted their affairs. The Saloncello served as an important space for political discussions and gatherings during the 1600s.

Visitors can enter the baroque church dedicated to Saint Charles Borromeo and explore the historic inner courtyard. The layout is straightforward to navigate, offering clear access to the rooms and architectural features.

An Italian-style inner garden documented in 1813 plans stands within the palace grounds and represents one of Lombardy's most notable gardens. This type of formal garden is uncommon in the alpine region, making it distinctive.
