Palazzo Ducale, Medieval palace in Tagliacozzo, Italy
The Palazzo Ducale spans 4000 square meters across two floors, featuring late Gothic architecture on the first level and Renaissance style on the second level.
The palace construction started in the 14th century under the Orsini family, with Roberto Orsini adding the second floor in the 15th century.
The interior spaces display numerous decorative elements, including family coats of arms, a frescoed chapel, and ornate loggias representing different noble families.
The palace underwent extensive renovations in the 1980s, 1990s, and 2008, ensuring its preservation and accessibility for current visitors.
Following the 1915 Marsica earthquake, the palace temporarily housed the Marsi diocese curia until 1924, serving as an essential recovery center.
