Grotte di Beatrice Cenci

The cave complex consists of multiple interconnected cavities, including the Ovido Cave, situated at an elevation of 1039 meters above sea level.

The caves were first explored in 1892 by Roman architect Carlo Ignazio Gavini, followed by the first official excursion in 1905 by Guido Cora.

Archaeological excavations revealed Italic and Roman votive offerings, along with Neolithic ceramic artifacts and Bronze Age zoological remains within the caves.

Guided tours of the caves operate at specific times: 10:00, 11:30, 15:00, and 16:30, with visitors using headlamps to navigate the underground passages.

The cave system connects to multiple geological formations, including the Ovido Cave of Verrecchie and the Cola cavities, through which the Imele River flows.
