Petrarca's house

The two-story stone residence features multiple rooms with period furnishings, manuscripts, and personal artifacts from the 14th century.

Francesco Petrarca resided in this house during his final years from 1369 until 1374, where he wrote several literary works.

The interior walls display frescoes commissioned in the 16th century by Paolo Valdezocco, depicting scenes from Petrarch's life and achievements.

The museum receives over 50,000 annual visitors and provides wheelchair accessibility throughout both floors of the historical structure.

The residence transformed into a museum during the 16th century, making it one of the earliest private homes converted into a public exhibition space.
