Museo del Vino

Museo del Vino at Ca' Rugate is a wine museum near Verona that displays more than 150 traditional tools and implements spanning one hundred years of winemaking. The collection documents every stage of the process from harvesting grapes to storage in the cellars, showing the hands-on methods the Tessari family used.

The Tessari family started their winemaking business in the early 1900s and grew it from a small local vineyard into an internationally recognized producer. Across four generations they refined their techniques while keeping the core of traditional methods that defined their work.

The museum reflects how the Tessari family integrated winemaking into daily life across generations and how their methods connected to broader traditions of the Soave region. The displayed tools show the skills that were passed down through families and the rhythms that shaped the local community.

A visit works best with advance notice, and guided tours run at different times depending on the day of the week. Plan to spend time examining the tools up close and walking through the rooms where the family actually worked.

Since 2019 the estate also operates as an educational farm certified by the Veneto Region and welcomes school groups so children can see how the work was done. This means young people today can still learn directly how people in this region lived and worked in earlier times.
