Abbazia di Rambona, Medieval abbey in Rambona Zona Mari, Italy

The abbey contains three apses and a crypt supported by twelve columns made of granite and streaked marble, with varied Romanesque capitals.

Emperor Ageltrude ordered the construction of this abbey in the 9th century, building it over a former pagan temple dedicated to goddess Bona.

The crypt houses two 15th-century frescoes depicting Saint Amico with a wolf and Madonna with Child, attributed to Lorenzo Salimbeni's circle.

The church section maintains its parish function since 1819, while other parts of the structure have been converted into private residences.

During the Middle Ages, the monastery controlled a vast territory extending from the Sibillini Mountains to the Potenza River mouth.
