Palazzo Fugger Galasso, Mannerist palace in Trento, Italy
Palazzo Fugger Galasso is a Mannerist residence in Trento featuring two asymmetrical towers and ornate decorated windows. The facade showcases composite pilasters and framed openings that draw inspiration from the Fugger family crest.
In 1602, architect Pier Maria Bagnadore designed this residence for Georg Fugger, a member of the prominent Augsburg banking dynasty. The patron married Elena Madruzzo, strengthening local aristocratic ties.
The internal chapel honors the Anaunian Martyrs through baroque decorations and artistic pieces. The ornate stuccowork creates a rich visual experience within the devotional space.
The entrance is located at Via Manci 5 and remains accessible throughout the day. A parking space for visitors with mobility needs sits nearby.
The structure was completed in just one year, sparking local tales of supernatural assistance. Townspeople nicknamed it the Devil's Palace due to the remarkably swift construction.
