Teatro Andromeda

Teatro Andromeda is an open-air theater on a hillside within a 300-acre property in Sicily, featuring 108 stone seats arranged in the shape of an eight-pointed star. The seating layout creates a distinctive geometric pattern that frames the performance space within the natural landscape.

The theater was conceived and built over 30 years by Lorenzo Reina, who simultaneously managed his family's farming operations in the Sicilian mountains. His personal dedication to this ambitious project in a rural region made it a work of intense manual labor and perseverance.

The theater serves as an artistic space where performances merge with natural surroundings, with sculptures placed throughout the grounds.

Access is on foot across the grounds, and comfortable shoes are recommended since the path to the stage slopes upward. Visitors should allow time to explore the entire property, as the size of the grounds offers plenty of space to walk around.

The 108 stone seats correspond to stars in the Andromeda galaxy, creating a direct link between the earthbound audience and the cosmos above. This astronomical correspondence weaves a subtle connection between the viewer's experience and the universe itself.
