Castello Ceconi, Gothic Revival villa in Pielungo, Italy

Castello Ceconi is a Gothic Revival villa in Vito d'Asio, Friuli-Venezia Giulia. The building displays Gothic balconies, rectangular windows, medieval towers, and a circular two-tiered fountain at the front entrance.

Count Giacomo Ceconi initiated construction of this residence in 1890 following his elevation to nobility by the Italian Crown. The building's creation reflected the region's growing prosperity during the late 19th century.

Statues of Italian writers including Dante Alighieri and Francesco Petrarca adorn the building's facade. These sculptures reflect how the owner valued literature and wove cultural heritage into his home's design.

The villa sits in a rural area of Friuli and is accessible on foot from the town center. Visitors should note this is a private property with limited public access, so checking conditions before visiting is advisable.

A dedicated room housed the count's personal collection including engineering tools, project drawings, and medals from his professional work. This private museum space reveals his passion for technical achievement and professional recognition.
