Chiesa di Santa Maria Assunta is a Baroque church organized with a Latin cross layout, six vaulted bays supported by pillars, and side chapels aligned with each bay. The interior feels clearly ordered by this systematic arrangement of architectural elements.

First mentioned in 901, this church was redesigned by architect Giovenale Boetto and completed in 1659. The transition from its medieval origins to this Baroque rebuilding marks a major shift in how the community reconceived this religious space.

The interior walls display frescoes by Luigi Morgari, created between 1857 and 1912, which add artistic depth to this sacred space. His works continue to shape how visitors experience the interior today.

Located in Piazza Botero at the heart of Bene Vagienna, this church is easy to reach on foot from most parts of town. Visitors should come during regular hours and wear sturdy shoes, as the interior floor can be uneven.

The bell tower displays Gothic architecture with an octagonal spire, retaining elements from the original fifteenth-century structure. These older features create an intriguing contrast with the Baroque styling of the interior.
