Castello dei Martinengo

The fortress was built in the late 14th century by the Martinengo family as both residence and defensive stronghold. The family was an influential Lombardy dynasty that controlled the region for generations.

The interior rooms display artworks by the Campi brothers and Lattanzio Gambara, reflecting artistic techniques from medieval northern Italy. These pieces show the refined taste of the family that called this place home.

The castle can be explored during daylight hours with guided tours available through the Municipal Office. Visitors should inquire in advance, as opening times vary by season.

The original moat system has naturally transformed into a green meadow encircling the entire fortress. This transformation shows how nature has reclaimed the defensive barrier while preserving its visual presence.
