Castello Pomerio, Medieval castle in Erba, Italy.
Castello Pomerio is a medieval fortress in Erba with a rectangular layout and two centuries-old mulberry trees in its courtyard. Stone walls display family crests, and the building offers spaces both indoors and outdoors for various purposes.
The fortress was built in the 11th century upon earlier fortifications and founded by the Parravicini family. Over time it passed into the hands of the Visconti and later the Carpani family.
Religious frescoes on the second floor depict Madonna with Child, Saint Benedict, and Saint Christopher in detailed medieval scenes. These paintings reflect the spiritual life and artistic traditions of the period.
The site accommodates up to 300 people and can be used for various events, with facilities for civil ceremonies. Its combination of indoor and outdoor spaces allows flexible use for visitors and organizers.
Archaeological excavations uncovered two restored wells in the courtyard, revealing details about medieval infrastructure. Alongside these structures, ceramic fragments from several centuries were discovered.
