Hiroshima City Asa Zoological Park

Hiroshima City Asa Zoological Park is a large facility spread across roughly 50 hectares with more than 170 animal species, including giraffes, lions, rhinoceroses, and elephants. The grounds are divided into sections displaying animals from Africa and other regions of the world.

The facility was founded in 1971 as one of the earlier zoos to open in Japan. Since its establishment, it has continued to develop and remains an important part of the local recreation landscape.
