Aioi Bridge, T-shaped bridge in Naka-ku, Hiroshima, Japan.

The 123-meter Aioi Bridge spans across the Honkawa River and Motoyasu River, featuring a distinctive T-shaped design with both vehicle and tram lanes.

The United States military selected this bridge as the target point for dropping the atomic bomb on August 6, 1945, due to its central location.

The bridge connects the Atomic Bomb Dome with the Peace Memorial Museum, serving as a central point for annual peace commemoration ceremonies.

Visitors can reach the bridge by taking tram lines 2 or 6 from Hiroshima Station to the Atomic Bomb Dome stop, then walking 100 meters.

The original stone pillars from 1945, displaying damage from the atomic blast, remain preserved at the northern end of the current bridge structure.
