Miki, Industrial town in Hyogo Prefecture, Japan
Located northwest of Kobe on the Harima Plain, Miki stretches across 176 square kilometers between the Rokko Mountains and Chugoku Mountains.
The city evolved from a castle town at the foot of Miki Castle during the Muromachi period and gained city status on June 1, 1954.
Metal craftsmen in Miki manufacture kitchen knives, chisels, wood-planes, saws, scissors, and folding knives using specialized steels like AUS-10 and VG-10.
The Kobe Electric Railway Ao Line connects Miki to major transportation networks through stations like Midorigaoka, with access to the Sanyo and Chugoku Expressways.
Miki produces the Yamada Nishiki rice variety and maintains sister city relationships with Visalia, California and Federation Council in New South Wales.
