Yuzuki Castle

The castle ruins contain preserved moats, earthworks, and reconstructed samurai residences that demonstrate traditional Japanese fortification techniques at its hilltop location.

Founded by Kōno Michimori in 1335, Yuzuki Castle served as a regional administrative center for 250 years until its fall during the Toyotomi campaigns.

The site received official recognition as one of the Historic Sites of Japan in 2002 and belongs to the selective list of 100 Fine Castles.

Visitors can explore the castle grounds within Dōgo Park daily from 9:00 to 17:00, with exhibition facilities providing insights into medieval Japanese architecture.

The exhibition hall features rare displays of earthwork construction methods, revealing the internal structure and building techniques of medieval Japanese fortifications.
