Tsurumi-ku, Administrative ward in eastern Osaka, Japan.
Tsurumi-ku is an administrative ward on the eastern side of Osaka with a landscape shaped by rivers and green spaces. The Neyagawa River runs across the district from east to west, forming a natural boundary that divides different neighborhoods.
The ward became an independent administrative unit in 1974 when it separated from the adjacent Joto-ku. This division was intended to improve local governance and better serve the growing population.
The Flower Expo Memorial Park contains educational facilities like the Sakuya Botanical Dome and Earth Environmental Museum, teaching visitors about natural sciences.
Several rail lines connect different parts of the ward, including the Subway Nagahori-Tsurumiryokuchi Line and the JR Gakkentoshi Line. This network makes it straightforward for visitors to explore the area and move between neighborhoods.
The area is home to a large urban park that hosted an international horticultural exposition in 1990. Within this park stands the Sakuya Botanical Dome, where visitors can explore displays of tropical and subtropical plants from around the world.
