Koshigaya Station, Railway station in Koshigaya, Saitama Prefecture, Japan
Koshigaya Station is an elevated railway station on the Tobu line with two island platforms serving four tracks. The facility accommodates both local and express trains within its tiered layout.
The station opened on April 17, 1920, originally named 越ヶ谷駅 before being renamed 越谷駅 in 1956. A major 1997 reconstruction lifted all platforms above ground and reshaped the station structure.
The station numbering system introduced in March 2012 designated Koshigaya Station as TS-21, following Japanese railway identification standards.
This station sits about 24 kilometers from Asakusa and handles a steady flow of daily commuters. Its elevated position makes it easy to spot and provides clear views of the surroundings.
The main station building sits directly beneath the tracks, creating an integrated structure. This unusual arrangement came about through the 1997 redesign and remains a defining feature.
