Nasukarasuyama

Nasukarasuyama sits at the western foot of the Yamizo Mountains and stretches along the middle reaches of the Naka River in Tochigi Prefecture.

The city originated from a castle town during the Edo period, centered around Karasuyama Castle, which dates back to the Kamakura period in Japan.

The Yamaage Matsuri festival features traditional performances and ceremonies at the Yamaage Kaikan cultural facility, preserving local customs and heritage.

The JR East Karasuyama Line connects the city with major regional destinations, while National Routes 293 and 294 provide road access throughout the area.

The city maintains an international connection through its sister city relationship with Menomonie, Wisconsin, establishing cultural exchanges between Japan and the United States.
