Takahashi, Mountain city in Okayama Prefecture, Japan

The Takahashi River flows through the center of the city, dividing the urban area into two distinct sections connected by multiple bridges.

Established in 1889, Takahashi expanded its territory through significant mergers with neighboring towns in 1954 and underwent administrative changes in 2004.

The city maintains traditional samurai residences near the railway tracks, preserving the architectural style and living conditions of Japanese warriors from past centuries.

Visitors can rent electric or standard bicycles from the Tourist Information Center, located directly in front of JR Bitchu Takahashi Station.

Bitchu Matsuyama Castle, positioned on a mountain peak, provides visitors with panoramic views across the entire Takahashi valley and surrounding mountains.
