Minami-Alps, Mountain city in Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan.
Minami-Alps extends across 264 square kilometers at the eastern foothills of the Southern Alps, containing three rivers: Midai, Takizawa, and Tsubo.
The establishment of Minami-Alps occurred on April 1, 2003, through the merger of four towns and two villages from the Nakakoma District.
The region maintains traditional craftsmanship through washi paper production, suzuri inkstone creation, and seal engraving at the Rokugo Seal Museum.
The agricultural city specializes in fruit cultivation, including cherries, peaches, plums, grapes, pears, persimmons, kiwis, and apples throughout multiple seasons.
Mount Kitadake, rising 3,193 meters within city limits, stands as Japan's second-highest mountain peak and attracts numerous mountaineers.
