Sakura-ku

Sakura-ku spans across 18.64 square kilometers and contains five major neighborhoods: Sakurada, Shibiraki, Seki, Tajima, and Nishibori.

The ward received its official designation on April 1, 2003, following the merger of Urawa, Omiya, and Yono cities to establish Saitama City.

The ward maintains the Tajima River Sakura-so habitat, a nationally recognized natural monument that preserves native Japanese primrose species.

Multiple train stations within the ward connect residents to the Tokyo metropolitan area through an extensive rail network system.

The ward coordinates the Nobi Nobi Walking initiative, promoting health through organized community walking programs across its neighborhoods.
