Akigase Park

Akigase Park spans 100.1 hectares along the Arakawa River flood plain, featuring sports facilities, native forests, and extensive recreational areas at the western edge of Saitama City.

The local government of former Urawa City established this green space in 1971 to counter the effects of rapid urban development in the surrounding area.

The park functions as a central meeting point where residents gather for seasonal celebrations, sports activities, and community events throughout the year.

Visitors can reach the park by taking a twenty-minute bus ride from Urawa Station to Shiki Station, getting off at the Sakurasō Park stop.

The park includes sections of the Arakawa River flood plain system, contributing to water management while providing natural habitats for regional wildlife species.
