Tokyo Opera City Tower

Tokyo Opera City Tower is a 54-story office building in Nishi-Shinjuku that rises 234 meters into the sky. Inside, office spaces share the building with a concert hall, art gallery, media center, and many shops and restaurants scattered throughout the middle floors.

The complex was built during the early 1990s as a partnership between design firms and opened in 1996. Its completion marked a significant moment in how the Nishi-Shinjuku area developed as a modern business district.

The tower houses a concert hall where performances happen regularly, an art gallery showing contemporary works, and a media center. These venues shape how locals and visitors experience culture in the neighborhood.

The building connects directly to Hatsudai Station, making it easy to reach by train. Keep in mind that public areas like restaurants and shops occupy the middle floors, while upper levels are mostly offices with limited visitor access.

The building earned architectural awards like the BCS Prize for its thoughtful design and how it fits into the neighborhood. Most visitors walk past these achievements without knowing the building was recognized by design professionals for its innovative approach.
