Seika, Suburban town in Soraku District, Japan

Located at the southwestern edge of Kyoto Prefecture, Seika extends between the Kizu River and Keihanna Hills, covering 25 square kilometers of land.

The town emerged from the 1931 merger of Komada, Hosono, and Inada villages into Kawanishi, which later combined with Yamadaso to establish Seika in 1951.

Seika maintains strong connections with Norman, United States, through a municipal partnership established in 2005 that promotes international cultural exchanges.

The town connects to major urban centers through the JR West Katamachi Line and Kintetsu Railway, with direct access to the Keinawa Expressway.

Seika stands as part of Kansai Science City, hosting research facilities of major corporations like NTT and Kyocera alongside traditional strawberry farms.
