Nishi-ku, Administrative ward in Sapporo, Japan

Nishi-ku extends across 75 square kilometers, making it the second largest ward in Sapporo, with a mix of residential areas, farmland and mountainous terrain.

The ward represents the earliest urban development site in Sapporo, featuring the Kotoni Tonden Historical Archives that document Japanese pioneers in Hokkaido.

The Sapporo Municipal Teine Memorial Museum and Mitobe Memorial Museum preserve local artifacts and documents that reflect the regional development of Hokkaido.

The eastern section contains residential and commercial zones, while the western part connects to mountains, with the Tozai subway line providing transportation.

Mount Sankakuyama, rising 311 meters in the Yamanote area, presents a distinct triangle shape and serves as a natural landmark for hiking activities.
