Hongō Shin Memorial Museum of Sculpture, Sapporo, Biographical and art museum in Miyanomori, Japan
The Hongō Shin Memorial Museum of Sculpture contains over 1,800 works, including sculptures, paintings, drawings, prints, and calligraphic works by the artist.
The museum opened in June 1981 following the donation of Hongō Shin's studio, gallery, and artworks to Sapporo city in 1979.
The collection maintains an extensive archive of tools, personal items, and books that belonged to Hongō Shin, documenting Japanese sculptural practices.
The museum welcomes visitors from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM and offers joint tickets with the Memorial House when exhibitions are running.
Architect Yoshiya Tanoue designed the museum building next to Hongō Shin's original studio in the residential district of Miyanomori.
