Mighishi Kōtarō Museum of Art, Hokkaido, Art museum and biographical museum in Sapporo, Japan.
This prefectural museum displays 220 paintings and artworks by Japanese artist Kotaro Migishi in a dedicated exhibition space designed by architect Shinichi Okada.
The museum first opened in 1967 as part of the Hokkaido Museum of Art before relocating to its current building in 1983 following donations from Migishi's family.
The museum received both the BCS Prize and Public Buildings Award for its architectural design that integrates exhibition spaces with musical performance areas.
Located at Kita 2-jo Nishi 15-chome in central Sapporo, the museum opens from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM and charges 510 yen for adult admission.
Every two to three weeks on Saturdays, the museum hosts concerts inspired by Migishi's painting titled 'Orchestra,' combining visual arts with musical performances.
