札幌センタービル, Commercial skyscraper in central Sapporo, Japan.
Sapporo Center Building, also known as 札幌センタービル, is a commercial high-rise in central Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan, with 25 floors of office and retail space. The tower rises above the Odori area and its rectangular form and glass facade are visible from several points in the city center.
The building was completed in 1987, during a period when Japan's economy was expanding rapidly and Sapporo was investing heavily in its downtown core. It was developed by a group of construction and real estate companies and has remained a fixture of the city center ever since.
The building stands in the Odori area, the commercial core of Sapporo, where office workers, shoppers, and visitors mix throughout the day. Its ground floor connects directly to the network of underground passages that link much of the city center, making it a natural crossroads.
The building is a short walk from Odori Station, which is served by multiple subway lines, making it easy to reach from most parts of the city. Since it is primarily an office building, public access is limited to the lower commercial floors.
The building connects to Sapporo's underground walkway network, which means you can reach it from nearby buildings without stepping outside. This system becomes especially useful during Sapporo's winters, when snow covers the streets for months at a time.
