Isogo-ku

Isogo-ku extends over 19 square kilometers of eastern Kanagawa Prefecture, featuring residential areas, industrial zones, and coastal sections along Negishi Bay.

The territory transformed from Tokugawa shogunate control during the Edo period to become an official ward of Yokohama on October 10, 1927.

The ward maintains multiple community centers and public spaces where residents participate in seasonal festivals celebrating Japanese traditions throughout the year.

The Isogo Ward Office operates weekdays from 8:45 AM to 5:00 PM, providing administrative services including family registration, tax processing, and childcare applications.

The coastal section underwent a complete transformation in the 1960s, developing from traditional fishing areas into a modern chemical and petrochemical industrial zone.
