Heguri, Town in Ikoma District, Nara Prefecture, Japan.

Heguri is a town in Ikoma District, Nara Prefecture, situated in the Kansai region and connected by the Kintetsu Railway Ikoma Line through Heguri Station. The town contains several historic structures including the Chōgosonshi-ji temple and other traditional sites.

The town was formally established as a municipality in 1889 and later underwent administrative changes that shaped its current structure. The Tomb of Prince Nagaya within its boundaries reflects a much deeper historical presence in the area.

The name Heguri comes from kanji characters represented through symbols adopted in 1970. You can see these local markings around town reflecting how residents identify their community.

The town is easy to reach by public transport since the Kintetsu Railway Ikoma Line runs directly through it. The train station area serves as a good starting point for exploring the town and accessing pathways to local attractions.

Unlike many other small Japanese towns, this place has benefited from direct rail access for many decades, shaping its development. The presence of the Chōgosonshi-ji temple and the princely tomb shows the region has roots far older than the modern community.
