Tajiri, Coastal town in Sennan District, Japan
Tajiri is a small coastal town in Sennan District situated along Osaka Bay. Within its boundaries lies a section of Kansai International Airport, which shapes the character of the community.
Tajiri was established as a village in Hine District in 1889 and became part of Sennan District in 1896. This administrative transition marked the beginning of its development as a coastal settlement.
The Tajiri Marine Exchange Center serves as a gathering place where visitors encounter local life through its Sunday morning market. Here you find fishermen and farmers selling their catch and produce directly to the community.
The town has one public elementary school and one public middle school serving local families. Transportation access is provided by Nankai Electric Railway and JR West, connecting you to surrounding areas.
Tajiri has one of the highest population densities in Japan despite its remarkably small land area. This concentration developed partly due to its proximity to the international airport facility.
