Nakakoma district, Administrative district in Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan
The Nakakoma District extends across a terrain of 9.08 square kilometers with a population density of 2.3 persons per square kilometer.
Established on December 19, 1878, Nakakoma District emerged from the division of Koma District and initially contained fifty-two separate villages.
The district maintains traditional Japanese administrative practices through its governing structure and classification system within Yamanashi Prefecture.
Current population statistics from 2020 indicate 20,909 residents living within the district boundaries, with Shōwa representing the primary town.
Through multiple municipal mergers, including the 2003 formation of Minami-Alps city, the district transformed from 52 villages to a single remaining town.
