The stadium opened its doors in 1985 and underwent substantial renovations in 1997, followed by expansions in 2005 to meet growing athletic requirements.
The venue serves as the primary home ground for Ventforet Kofu football club and regularly hosts Top League rugby union matches throughout the season.
The stadium resides within Kose Sports Park, offering multiple athletic facilities and maintaining regular public transportation connections for event accessibility.
The facility changed its name from Kose Sports Park Stadium to Yamanashi Chuo Bank Stadium in March 2011 through a naming rights agreement.
