Sone Kyūryō Park

Sone Kyūryō Park is an archaeological park with ancient burial mounds spread across elevated terrain in Kofu. The site also has a prefectural museum that displays findings from excavations in the area.

The park was established in 1986 to protect several archaeological sites, including ancient burial mounds from prehistoric times. These mounds date back over 1500 years.

The museum inside displays pottery from the Jomon and Yayoi periods, showing how people in this region crafted ceramics long ago. Walking through the galleries, you can see bowls, vessels, and tools that reveal how communities lived and worked centuries before.

The park is free to walk through during the day, while the museum inside requires admission and has set hours. Plan time to explore both the mounds and the museum collections.
