Taishi is a town in Ibo district, Hyogo Prefecture, positioned between Tatsuno and Himeji cities. The landscape includes the Otsumo River and geographical features such as Dantoku Hill.
The region traces back to the Nara period when Prince Shotoku received an estate here following his lecture on the Lotus Sutra. This early connection established the area's long-standing importance.
