Taishi, Administrative town in Ibo district, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan

Taishi spans 22.61 square kilometers in southwestern Hyogo Prefecture, between Tatsuno city and Himeji city, featuring Dantoku Hill and Otsumo River.

The region appears in the Nara period chronicles, with Prince Shotoku receiving the Ikaruga estate in 606 AD after presenting the Lotus Sutra lecture.

The Asuka Hall, constructed in 1993, functions as a central performance venue accommodating 800 people for various artistic and cultural presentations.

Transportation access includes connections to the Sanyo Shinkansen and Sanyo Main Line through nearby Aboshi Station, with National Routes 2, 29, and 179 crossing the area.

The City Museum of History exhibits artifacts from 1860 to 1863 alongside the D51-345 locomotive from 1941 near Tatsuoka Hill.
