Yubetsu, Administrative town in Okhotsk Subprefecture, Japan
Yubetsu occupies 505 square kilometers of land with varied landscapes ranging from coastal areas influenced by the Sea of Okhotsk to inland agricultural regions.
The town received its official designation in 1953 and underwent significant expansion when merging with Kamiyubetsu town in October 2009.
Residents celebrate the arrival of spring through tulip festivals at Kamiyubetsu Tulip Park, where mascots Tupit and Lip-chan represent local flower traditions.
The town maintains connections with larger cities through regional transportation networks while supporting agriculture and fishing as primary economic activities.
Yubetsu experiences temperature extremes from -6.6°C in winter to 38.5°C in summer, with annual precipitation reaching 750 millimeters.
