Sakaki, Administrative town in Hanishina district, Japan
Sakaki extends across 53.64 square kilometers in north-central Nagano Prefecture, with the Chikuma River flowing through its territory.
The town gained its administrative status on April 1, 1889, and expanded through mergers with Nakanojō, Nanjō in 1955, and Murakami in 1960.
The town maintains three elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school operated by the Nagano Prefectural Board of Education.
The Shinano Railway Line and Jōshin-etsu Expressway, along with National Route 18, connect Sakaki to neighboring municipalities in Nagano Prefecture.
Sakaki's economy centers on Takeuchi Manufacturing, producing construction equipment, alongside agricultural production of rice, apples, pears, and grapes.
