Hanamaki Airport, Regional airport in Hanamaki, Japan
Hanamaki Airport is a regional airport terminal in Iwate with a 2500-meter runway and modern facilities. It connects travelers to destinations throughout Japan and international routes to Shanghai and Taipei.
This airport opened in 1964 with a 1200-meter runway and grew over time. The runway was extended to 2000 meters in 1983 to handle larger planes.
The restaurant on the second floor serves regional dishes like cold Morioka noodles and local Iwate beef, giving you a taste of what people in this area eat. You can experience these traditional flavors before or after your flight.
The airport offers free parking next to the main terminal with space for around 1150 vehicles. Regular bus services connect the airport to Morioka Station.
The 2009 terminal building was designed with input from universal design experts to ensure accessibility throughout. This makes the airport easy to navigate for all visitors.
