Rainbow Bridge, Suspension bridge in Tokyo Bay, Japan

The Rainbow Bridge spans 798 meters across Tokyo Bay, connecting the Shibaura district to the artificial island of Odaiba with white steel towers.

Kawasaki Heavy Industries completed construction of this double-deck bridge in 1993, incorporating advanced seismic technology following the Kobe earthquake experience.

The bridge appears in numerous Japanese films and media productions, including the 2003 film Lost in Translation, representing modern Tokyo architecture.

The upper deck carries the Daiba Route 11 of Shuto Expressway, while the lower deck accommodates the Yurikamome transit system and pedestrian walkways.

Solar-powered lamps mounted on the suspension cables illuminate the bridge in red, white, and green colors each night against the Tokyo skyline.
