Nippon Gaishi Hall, Indoor sports arena in Higashi-Matabēchō, Japan.
Nippon Gaishi Hall is a modern indoor arena with four levels—three above ground and one below—that holds about 10,000 people for sports and concerts. The building serves as a major venue for competitions and large-scale events in the Nagoya region.
The hall opened in 1987 and was originally known as Nagoya Rainbow Hall before being renamed in 2007. The structure was designed by renowned architect Kenzō Tange.
The arena maintains its position as a central venue for volleyball championships, martial arts competitions, and large-scale musical performances in the Nagoya region.
The venue is easiest to reach from Kasadera Station, from which you can walk directly to the hall. Several hotels within walking distance offer accommodation options near the event space.
An adjacent complex transforms by season and operates as both a swimming facility and ice rink with around 3,500 seats. This dual-use approach allows the operator to offer different sports throughout the year.
