Chukyo University, Private university in Nagoya, Japan
Chukyo University is an institution with two locations in Nagoya and Toyota, equipped with contemporary teaching buildings, research facilities, and extensive sports centers. Students move between multistory libraries, computer labs, and audiovisual centers distributed across both sites.
Founded in 1954, the institution began as a single campus and grew over the decades into a major private center of higher learning in central Japan. In later years, it expanded its infrastructure to Toyota to increase capacity and offerings.
The Global Education Center organizes language courses and cultural events where local and foreign students meet. Classrooms display bilingual signage that reflects the international profile of the institution.
Both locations have cafeterias, copy centers, and group study rooms that remain accessible outside lecture hours. Visitors should note that the grounds are extensive and orientation maps at the entrance help with navigation.
The Toyota site houses an ice skating rink where several Olympic medalists including Miki Ando and Mao Asada trained during their active careers. This rink continues to attract young figure skaters from the region today.
