Hiroshima Municipal Stadium, also known as Mazda Zoom-Zoom Stadium Hiroshima, is a baseball venue in the Minami-ku district of Hiroshima, Japan. It features natural grass across the full playing field and offers seating across multiple tiers for over 30,000 spectators.
The current stadium opened in April 2009, replacing a 1957 venue that had stood in a different part of the city. The new location was chosen to bring the facility closer to Hiroshima Station, making it easier to reach from central areas.
The stadium is home to the Hiroshima Toyo Carp, a baseball team with deep roots in the city and a devoted local following. On game days, the stands fill with fans wearing the team's red colors, making the energy in the arena immediately noticeable.
The stadium is about a ten-minute walk from Hiroshima Station, making it easy to reach without a vehicle. Arriving early on game days is a good idea, as different seating sections, such as terrace or sand areas, offer noticeably different views of the field.
The design of the stadium was shaped in part by a public consultation process in which fans submitted their wishes for the new venue. Some of the open areas behind the outfield fences, where spectators can stand and watch without a reserved seat, came directly from that process.
