Kita-Ayase Station, Elevated metro station in Yanaka, Tokyo, Japan
Kita-Ayase Station is an elevated metro station in the Adachi district, in northeastern Tokyo. It has a single side platform and sits at the southern end of the Chiyoda Line.
The station opened in 1979 as part of the Teito Rapid Transit Authority network. It was later transferred to Tokyo Metro when the authority was privatized.
The station serves as a central transportation point for residents in the Adachi area, reflecting the growth of Tokyo suburban communities.
The station sits at the end of the line, which makes orientation easy since trains depart in only one direction. Tickets can be bought at machines before the fare gates.
The platform was extended in March 2019 to fit ten-car trains, even though the station is served by a single short branch with limited frequency. This change allowed direct services through to Yoyogi-Uehara at the far end of the line.
