Kōriyama Castle, Japanese castle in Yamatokōriyama, Japan.
The castle structure includes three concentric moats and stone defensive walls built on a hilltop in southwestern Nara Prefecture.
Tsutsui Junkei constructed the castle in 1580, which later became the residence of Toyotomi Hidenaga, brother of the influential ruler Toyotomi Hideyoshi.
The castle grounds feature 800 cherry trees and host the annual Yamatokoriyama Oshiro Matsuri festival between March and April.
Visitors can reach the castle site within seven minutes by walking from Yamato Koriyama Station on the Kintetsu Nara Line.
The castle walls incorporate repurposed stones from surrounding temples and graveyards, creating a distinct architectural signature.
