Bifuka

Bifuka is a town in Nakagawa district, Hokkaido, located in the northern part of the prefecture. The settlement features rural architecture spread across forested terrain with agricultural areas surrounding the residential center.

The town was founded on April 1, 1915, and gained status as an administrative division eight years later in 1923. This development established its role as an independent municipality in the region.

The residents of Bifuka maintain seasonal festivals that incorporate traditional Hokkaido customs, including winter celebrations and spring agricultural ceremonies.

Visiting is possible year-round, but winters are long and snowy with heavy precipitation. The best time to explore is from May through September when weather is milder and roads remain easily accessible.

The Roadside Station Bifuka, opened on April 22, 1993, serves as a key meeting point for travelers and locals. This place is known for displaying local products and regional specialties that visitors can discover.
